Foster Children and Childhood Stories

"Foster Homes & Dysfunctional Childhoods"

Our goal is to have a safe place to share our
experiences growing up in foster home care with
both the bad and good stories.

Briefly, My personal experiences included being
in 6 foster homes by age 12, emotional and
physical abuse + then an abusive stepfather
when the absent mom married and when he
died at only 40, I was off on my own @ 17.

Worst part was all the moving around, changing schools,
families, bullies, and of course dealing with shame,
abandonment, fear, confusion....No Nurturing of any
kind - no aunt, grandma, etc..to help or
take me in like you see in the
movies...

Also, how do you feel your childhood experience
has effected your life as an adult - parent -
husband - employee - friendships - trust and all
other issues relating to how you have adjusted
as the years have gone by.
